1. Information We Collect
When you use InterviewPracticeAI, we may collect the following information:
- Account data: email address and display name when you sign up.
- Application data: job titles, company names, job descriptions, and CV text you provide for interview practice.
- Interview data: your spoken or typed answers, AI-generated questions, scores, and feedback.
- Voice & audio data: when you use voice features, your speech is sent for real-time transcription to a third-party provider (Groq), and text-to-speech playback is provided by a third-party voice provider (ElevenLabs). Audio is processed transiently and is not stored by us or these providers after processing.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps, browser type, and device information.
- Device fingerprint: when you use the free tryout feature without an account, we generate a browser fingerprint to prevent abuse. This fingerprint is a hashed identifier derived from your browser and device characteristics and is not used to track you across other websites.
- Referral data: if you join via a referral link, we store the referral code to attribute the invitation and process referral rewards.
- Payment data: credit purchases and transaction history (payment processing is handled by third-party providers).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the AI interview practice service.
- To generate personalized interview questions and feedback.
- To convert your speech to text and read feedback aloud using voice technology.
- To track your progress, achievements, streaks, and leaderboard ranking.
- To manage your account, credit balance, and referral rewards.
- To send service-related emails, including streak reminder notifications.
- To communicate service updates and respond to support requests.
- To detect abuse and maintain platform security, including limiting free tryout usage.
3. AI & Voice Processing
Your interview answers and application details are sent to AI language models to generate questions and evaluate responses. We do not use your personal data to train AI models. AI-generated feedback is stored in your account for your reference.
Voice features use two third-party providers: text-to-speech is powered by ElevenLabs, and speech-to-text transcription is powered by Groq. When you use these features, audio data is transmitted to the relevant provider for real-time processing and is not retained after processing. 4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use cloud infrastructure with row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you.
5. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion:
- Your account enters a grace period during which you can cancel the deletion request.
- After the grace period expires, your account and all associated data (profile, applications, interview sessions, achievements, credits, and referral records) are permanently deleted.
- Deletion is irreversible once the grace period has passed.
- When you delete an individual application, all uploaded documents (CVs, job descriptions) associated with that application are permanently removed from our servers immediately.
Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for service improvement purposes.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- AI model providers for question generation and answer evaluation.
- ElevenLabs for text-to-speech voice processing.
- Groq for speech-to-text transcription.
- Authentication and database hosting services.
- Analytics tools to understand how the service is used.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics cookies to improve the service. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
8. Email Communications
We may send you the following emails:
- Transactional emails: account verification, password resets, and security notifications.
- Streak reminders: optional notifications to help you maintain your practice streak. You can disable these at any time from your account settings — the link in the reminder email takes you there.
- Referral invitations: sent on your behalf when you invite a friend.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and download your personal data from your account settings.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data (with a cancellation grace period).
- Opt out of streak reminder emails and other non-essential communications.
